Phuoc Lam officially formed the Wildernest Outdoor Store in the summer of 2002.  It began with "rescuing" a friend who had started the shop selling consignment outdoor gear for local customers and outfitters. 
 
In the spring of 2003, with the addition of new business partners Tom Duke and Steve & Kerry Sutorius, the Wildernest descended from its second floor “hole in the wall" location in the Kuhn Building to 929 Water St.  Once an out of the way consignment gear shop, the Wildernest Outdoor Store has blossomed and come into it’s own on busy Water St. 

In January of 2006, Steve and Kerry left their careers in the chemical dependancy field and took on full ownership of the Wildernest, committing to maintaining the high level of customer service and having the quality products to choose from that the Wildernest has always been known for.
