LINDSAY SIMMONS – Artistic Director / PT Staff

-
Favorite Food post hike/climb/ride?
A: Pub grub and a pint at the Timber House or Whistling Oyster in Quilcene.
-
What's on your iPod?
A: Beats to match my cadence while commuting: promise ring, pica beats, passion pit, silversun pickups,
yeah yeah yeahs and podcasts from KEXP.
-
Worst job ever?
A: Maybe not the worst but possibly the least lucrative was my first job at age 15. Working at Truffles,
premier chocolates, allowed me to gain weight while reducing inventory by consumption. Never hire a high
school athlete in a growth spurt to sell candy. Period.
-
Favorite Books?
A: I'm more a reader and collector of cookbooks, but a few books that remain dog eared and re-read are:
"I Like You" by Amy Sedaris. "Dracula" by Bram Stoker. "Nausea" by Jean Paul Sartre. "Lolita" by Vladimir
Nabokov and "Walden" by Henry David Thoreau. The only magazine I subscribe to is Saveur, where after reading
I do more drooling than cooking.
-
Favorite Movies?
A: After I outgrew John Waters they became: the 1979 Broadway rendition of Steven Sondheim's "Sweeney Todd the
Demon Barber of Fleet Street." Roman Polanski's "Rosemary's Baby" and 1967 "Two for the Road" with Audrey
Hepburn and Albert Finney.
-
I can eat a lot of...
A: Homemade chex mix, con queso, cheese curds, fried fish and beer...seriously, that's how they breed us in th
mid-west.
-
Pet
A: Daphne girl, part dachshund part machine...always hungry, never tired. Beloved Bobby, part rott part lab...
ever missed, never forgotten.
-
Favorite trail/climb?
A: Couldn't pin point a favorite, but most magical places for me via memories and activities are: Grand Teton
National Park and Joshua Tree National Park.
-
What is your dream vacation/trip?
A: Would probably be an extension of what i do each year with my husband...load up the van with the dogs, tasty
vittles, gear and hit the blue highways across america. Small town diners, desolate trails and nothing but
open road. Little expense, big experience.
-
I can't live without...
A: Family, alone time, cooking, my bike, 1969 chevy vans, music, sharing, salty snacks and cotton...not necessarily
in that order.
-
Favorite adult beverage?
A: Hands down, a classic Manhattan: 3 parts Woodford Reserve, 1 part Cinzano Sweet Vermouth. Never a cherry, up
or on the rocks.
