LOCAL HIKES
There are so many great day hikes on the Olympic Peninsula that we're only going to drop a few staff favorites
on you... You'll have to check out our Blog
for more trail and trip reviews.
Easy
For a quick woodsy fix head out to Old Fort Townsend State Park. Steve has been running and riding here for years
and still can't believe how scarce people are on these trails. Great family spot.
Moderate
Got to go to Marmot Pass! 10 miles or so round trip starts out mellow next to the Big Quil, then on up to some
of the most beautiful views of the Cascades and Puget Sound aroung. This is a great hike for an active pup like Harold or Daphne!
Tough
You really want to get after it? Head up Appleton Pass, this 15 mile day trip is a tough one, better be in shape for
this 5000 ft pass. The last couple of miles are the most challenging with some rugged switchbacks but, the views offered by
this hike are unparralled!
DOGGIE STYLE
We love taking our pups out with us, they make great hiking partners! Just make sure it's allowed. A
couple of favorite jaunts with the pooch include:
- » Gazzam Lake on Bainbridge Island (3.5 miles)
- » Mount Zion or Mount Townsend
(4.5 miles up Mt. Zion or 8 miles up to Mt. Townsend
- » Slab Camp and the Upper Gray Wolf River
(6 miles that starts at 2500ft and leads you down about 1500ft)
